The Approach

As you come up on Turnberry Towers, the first thing you notice is the location. You are right behind the Strip. Not too close. Just close enough. The Las Vegas Monorail entrance is right there, and it is quiet — you ride it up and down the Strip and never need your car. You skip the Strip traffic entirely.

Then you reach the guard gate. Yes — guard gated. And after you become a resident, the guard knows your name.

To your left is the West tower. To your right is the East tower.

Valet, Concierge, and the Front Door

You pull up to valet. They take your car and whisk it into the covered parking garage. The concierge is right there — and if you are not a resident, you are not getting in.

Safety and privacy. That is Turnberry Towers.

The Lobby, the Pool, the Waterfall

The second set of glass doors slides open and you enter a beautiful contemporary lobby. You grab a fresh cup of coffee. Instead of heading straight up to your residence, you decide to sit outside by the pool — the waterfall, the massive barbecue and cooking area — and drink your coffee out there.

Two Courts, Two Games, Ten Friends

That is when you notice the tennis game. As you come toward the courts, you recognize some of your friends already watching. Two courts. Two games. Ten friends. An hour goes by.

Off to the side there is a beautiful outdoor lounge area, shaded and inviting, and you think: I am coming back here later with my book.

But right now you have to go up and get Frisky, who has been waiting.

The Pet Park You Do Not Get in Other High-Rises

Elevator up, open your door, there is Frisky. Grab the leash and head back down and around to the back of the building — except it does not feel like the back of a building. It feels like grounds.

And there you find the pet park. Not the typical high-rise dog run, which is usually tiny. This one is incredibly large, with a park bench for you to sit on while Frisky plays for an hour. Sniffing is good for dogs, and he loves being out there.
